Gang Run Printing is a process where printers combine multiple jobs to print on the same sheet. This process helps to significantly reduce prices by dividing the production costs across several jobs. Full-color cards no longer need to cost hundreds of dollars a set since the cost of the entire run can is shared my multiple clients. The two main goals in gang run printing are substantial cost savings and pleasant color matching.
Traditionally print jobs were run on a per-order-basis. You may have a large setup cost and make ready expense but spend very little on paper. Here are some sample numbers: An order of 1,000 business cards may have had a $200 setup cost and only a $20 paper cost. That would cost the client $220 for a set of 1,000 cards. Let's compare that to a Gang Run. The setup for a large sheet of cards on a Gang Run might be higher at $400, and since each order would be for 1,000 cards, the paper cost may go up to $600, for a total of $1000. Divide that by the thirty clients on the run, and you pay only $30 per set. In most cases, what would you rather pay? $30 a set or $220?
The two main goals in gang run printing are substantial cost savings and pleasant color matching. Our press operators balance the colors on all jobs so everyone has a 95%-98% color consistency. Below you can see the results of having all dark cards on a run versus having light cards. The dark cards may darken your card's image slightly whereas the light images may lighten the image. As you will see in the example of the Realtor's card below, the skin tone as card card-body as the blue may shift from run to run.

Since the ganging of jobs is an automated process we cannot change the card order for special requests. If colormatching is critical to your order, we do not recommend gang run printing. A custom run of only your order will give our press opperators the control needed to match your colors exactly. You may request a custom quote here: Request a Quote
